The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi will be available from this week at Verizon Wireless stores through special pricing plans. With the new 4G LTE feature, the download speed of the device will be enhanced considerably and will be anywhere between 5 to 12Mbps. While the upload speeds would be 2 to 5Mbps in 4G mobile broadband coverage areas.
Embedded with a 3MP rear-facing and 2MP front-facing camera for video chatting, this device comes integrated with the Nvidia Tegra2 Dual-Core 1GHz application processor. It can deliver 1080p HD video playback on an HDTV and features a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen display with WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution.
Incorporated with Adobe Flash 10.3 technology, this tablet runs on the Android 3.1 Honeycomb platform. This platform provides support for Google mobile services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google search, Google Maps, Google movies, Google Books and Android Market.
Starting this week, Verizon Wireless will offer two 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 models at a price of $529.99 for the 16GB model, while the 32GB model is priced at $629.99. They have various data plans to choose from as well. While one plan offers users monthly data access of 2GB for $30, the second one allows users access to 5GB data per month for $50. Choosing the third plan would give users 10GB monthly allowance for a price of $80. Furthermore, the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model in metallic grey will be available online at verizonwireless.com on July 28 for $499.99.
The tab features the Samsung media hub which presents users with a lineup of critically acclaimed films and TV programs for rent or purchase. However the hub has now been remodeled and allows users to playback media hub content on their TV through an HDMI adapter. The purchased content can be shared with up to five devices which support media hub for free. Customers of Verizon Wireless are entitled to get a free $25 media hub credit from Samsung for a specific amount of time on purchasing the tab from their stores. This credit can be used to purchase various TV shows and movies.
