The month that seems to be dedicated to love has been filled with titbits related to the Motorola Xoom tablet. It was earlier reported that eager-beavers in Europe could get their hands on the offering starting Q2 2011 and can be pre-ordered through Best Buy for $799. More interestingly, there was a rumor doing its rounds in the tech terrain revealing that the tablet may hit stores tomorrow. Now Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless have teamed up to announce that Motorola Xoom tablet is scheduled to indeed make its grand entry on February 24, 2011.

The innovative device is touted to be the first gadget that runs on Google’s new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. Packed with impressive software and hardware features, the Motorola product is infused with a 1GHz dual-core processor and a slim appearance. It also features a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera which is great for video chats and a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera that has the ability to capture video in 720p HD.

Android favorites like multi-tasking, notifications, customization, browsing and widgets are now enhanced. The tablet is also infused with the latest Google Mobile services. Xoom offers support for support for the Adobe Flash Player as well as tabbed browsing. Through this inclusion, owners can take full advantage of video and rich content strewn across the Internet.

The Motorola Xoom tablet can be purchased from Verizon Wireless for a price of $599.99 (approx. Rs. 27,158) or $799.99 (approx. Rs. 36,211) with a new two-year customer agreement or no contract respectively. Those wishing to acquire Wireless 3G data service can do so for a starting amount of $20 monthly access for 1GB. Tech enthusiasts can look forward to a 4G LTE service upgrade for the Xoom absolutely free of cost in Q2 2011.
