Notion Ink finally decides to part with Adam slate, shipping starts Wednesday

Notion Ink has always tried to be upfront about the availability of their tablet, although we keep wishing it isn’t word about the launch date being putting off then and again. To be fair, it hasn’t always been news of postponements if the 15 hour battery capability tidbit is taken into account. The official Notion Ink blog states that after the FCC clearance, their Adam tablet will start shipping out this Wednesday.
An update about the LCD adorning this device has also attached itself to the post. It cites that the scratch-resistant display has a layer of matte on the lower surface for reducing the effect of gloss and rendering vividly colored visuals. On the other hand, users can choose not to stick with the finger stain resistant matte layer on the LCD’s exterior if they please.
Content such as music, videos, books and magazines are set to reach customers courtesy of the company’s collaboration with a media group. This ninth and final version of the slate is stamped with the NI0000A01 product code, the NI being decipherable as the abbreviation for Notion Ink while the A01 stands for Adam 1 series. The numbers in between these two components are consecutive figures in the Fibonacci series.
To top it all, Notion Ink hints that they may soon start accepting a second round of pre-orders after deliveries in the U.S. and Europe.
