HTC Flyer tablet lands in the UK

HTC Flyer tablet

Remember the HTC Flyer tablet that was up for pre-order via Best Buy last month? The wait is finally over for enthusiasts in the UK. The HTC Flyer tablet in all its HTC Sense glory is available in-stores across EMEA markets. Bringing in the flexibility of both finger interaction and a stylus, the tablet shows off a stylish aluminum unibody design. The tablet will be available in 3G plus Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only versions.

A super-fast 1.5GHz processor takes charge of things on this 7” tablet. Its high-build quality complements the 3D display that appears to almost spring to life courtesy of the HTC Sense experience. There’s also a carousel of widgets inspired from the HTC Sensation for easy access to relevant information and content.

“We are delighted by the positive reactions that HTC Flyer has received since we first unveiled it in February and are pleased to be able to bring it to major markets across EMEA,” adds Florian Seiche, President HTC EMEA. “HTC Flyer is completely different from any other tablet on the market and we look forward to hearing about the different ways in which our customers use HTC Flyer in their daily lives – for both work and play.”

Users can expect high-speed wireless connections and enhanced Web browsing with support for both HTML 5 and Flash. While the 3G and Wi-Fi version of the tablet includes 32GB of onboard memory which can be expanded through the microSD card slot, the Wi-Fi only edition is embedded with about 16GB of storage space that’s expandable as well.

HTC’s new video download service, HTC Watch is further debuted on this tablet. It throws open an array of movies and TV shows both for rental and download purposes. It brings with it a ‘cloud locker’ attribute that allows movie purchases to be stored for download on a maximum of five registered HTC devices. Finally, the accompanying HTC Flyer Magic Pen will enable users of both versions of the tablet to make the most of HTC’s Scribe technology. Notes are also handled efficiently, with the Evernote application built right into the device’s calendar feature.

At a price of £599.99 (approx Rs. 43,892) and £479.99 (approx Rs. 35,114), HTC Flyer 3G plus Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only versions respectively are available through both HTC.com and in-store. Users in UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania can grab the device now.
