Motorola Droid Xyboard tablets now available on Verizon Wireless

Earlier this week we reported about the arrival of the Motorola Droid Xyboard tablets through Verizon and the latest follow-up on this piece of news reveals their availability details. Both the Xyboard 10.1 and Xyboard 8.2 tabs are now up for grabs through the official website, while they will hit Verizon Wireless Communications stores on Monday, December 12. And for a limited period, the carrier is offering a $100 discount on Xyboard tablets if purchased with the Motorola Droid Razr smartphone.

Both tablets are equipped with a 1GHz dual core processor and 1GB RAM to ensure smooth operation. The HD IPS multi-touch screens of these devices feature Corning Gorilla Glass and are reinforced with water repellent nanoparticles for protection against spills. The Xyboard 10.1 boasts of a 10.1-inch touchscreen, while the 8.2 variant dons an 8.2-inch display.

Both the Android Honeycomb powered tabs will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. The 5MP rear facing camera possesses attributes such as auto focus, digital zoom together with LED flash and records high definition videos. Also, users have an option to engage in video conferencing over the internet with the assistance of the front facing 1.3MP snapper. These 4G LTE certified tablets communicate wirelessly through Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and act as mobile hotspots for up to 8 handheld devices.

The Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 price tags for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions read $529.99 (approx. Rs. 27,285), $629.99 (approx. Rs. 32,430) and $729.99 (approx. Rs. 37,575), respectively. The Motorola Xyboard 8.2 prices for the 16GB and 32GB variants are $429.99 (approx. Rs. 22,130) and $529.99 (approx. Rs. 27,285), correspondingly. They are now available online along with a two-year customer agreement and Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband data plan. Users can visit the carrier’s stores starting December 12 to grab a Xyboard slate.
