Tech buffs would certainly agree that manufacturers have been carving out computing gizmos with a slew of powerful attributes like top-notch performance, cutting-edge technologies, style and enhanced mobility. MobileDemand has slid the wraps off its newest xTablet C1200 convertible tablet PC.

Users who are always on-the-move can snap up this offering which quickly transforms from a rugged laptop to a tablet PC and comes equipped with an easy-grip handle. The device touts to be WLAN and WWAN compatible, and delights users with optional Bluetooth capabilities, Gobi 2000 radio for 3G communication and GPS.

“We have added the xTablet C1200 to fulfill the requirement of some of our customers for a rugged mobile tablet with a full-sized keyboard to enter large amounts of free form data,” commented MobileDemand President, Matthew Miller. “This xTablet convertible complements our popular xTablet slate computer line and allows us to serve our current customers better as well as open up new markets.”

The security level is leveraged with different interesting functions like TPM 1.2 technology, fingerprint scanner and BIOS administrator password/boot password. The newest entrant features Microsoft Windows 7 Professional. The xTablet C1200 runs on the Intel Core i5 520UM processor with Turbo Boost up to 1.86GHz and Intel HM55 chipset offering 2GB RAM standard and up to 8GB memory.

The unit claims to meet MIL-STD 810G requirements and is crafted using a special spill resistant design which shields the keyboard, touchpad, speakers, wireless and power switches along with all ports. This exceptional design extends the overall lifespan of the device by enabling liquids to dissipate via the bottom of the computer.

The integrated hot-swappable 6-cell Li-ion battery enables the offering to function efficiently for around four hours and eight hours with an optional second Polymer battery. The device houses an Express 34 card slot, SDHC card reader as well as I/O ports with USB, e-SATA, serial, audio and smart card reader. Adorned by a 12.1-inch convertible TFT backlit touchscreen with a sunlight readable display option, the xTablet C1200 comes with a 1.3MP camera and various accessories like an office dock, vehicle dock and car adapter.

The xTablet C1200 is now up for ordering while mass production is expected in March.
