Fujitsu LifeBook U810 and LifeBook T2010 Ultramobile Tablet PCs introduced

Yesterday, Fujitsu extended its LifeBook series of notebook with the introduction of two new devices. Fujitsu launched LifeBook U810 mini and LifeBook T2010 convertible notebooks featuring mobility.

The LifeBook U810 incorporates a 5.6-inch WSVGA Crystal View LED display and is as lightweight as 1.56 pounds. It includes ultra slim QWERTY keyboard, stylus and touchscreen input devices. With the twist of the screen, the notebook gets converted into a handheld Tablet PC. This tiny notebook is capable of running all standard notebook applications. The best feature is that the docking station of the notebook allows operating the notebook with external display and keyboard, which delivers desktop experience.

Talking about the specifications and the configurations, the LifeBook U810 uses Ultra Low Power Intel A110 processor optimized specifically highly mobile devices. Besides, the notebook is powered by a standard 4-cell battery featuring up to 5.5 hours of computing time. Users can choose operating system as per their own choice from Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.

The other notebook introduced by Fujitsu is LifeBook T2010, which is slightly bigger than the U810. It incorporates 12.1-inch WXGA indoor/outdoor display with a bi-directional swivel and weighs approximately 3.5 pounds. The LED-backlit improves visual experience in sunlight. The LifeBook T2010 notebook also offers an embedded Smart Card slot and connectivity options such as built-in WLAN, LAN and Bluetooth.

The LifeBook T2010 is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage U7600 Processor. Its battery rates life span up to nine hours and extended battery delivers 11 hours of computing time. Buyers can choose their operating system between Windows Vista Business and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.

“The LifeBook U810 and LifeBook T2010 convertibles are the latest additions to the innovative line of Fujitsu convertibles ushering in the new generation of lightweight devices that offer exceptional mobility and extended computing time,” stated Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems.

“The LifeBook U810 notebook hits the mark for on-the-go workforces and prosumers who appreciate the mobile aspects of a PDA, but need the power and compatibility of a notebook. And for customers who love our best-selling LifeBook T4220 convertible notebook with a modular bay, but would like a lighter 1-spindle version with longer battery life. The wait is over with the introduction of the LifeBook T2010 notebook,” continued Moore.

The LifeBook U810 notebook will be available in September 2007 at a price starting from $999 (around Rs. 41,070), while the LifeBook T2010 is available with immediate effect at the price starting from $1,599 (approx ).
