WD offers more storage with 6TB My Book Studio Edition II
Beyond any shadow of doubt, today’s heavy-end consumer devices have left users with asking for more spacious storage solutions to stockpile their important content. Probably for this, Western Digital has revealed its new My Book Studio Edition II dual-drive storage system with a massive 6 terabyte of storage.
Designed to cater to users’ thickening demand for huge storage capacity, the new hard drive conjugates its elongated capacity and compatibility with Apple Time Machine. Featuring a classy appearance, My Book Studio Edition II surpasses others with speedy functionality accompanied by four interfaces.
“Thanks to advancements in HD video devices including digital SLR cameras and HD video cameras, the quality and quantity of video content being produced by professionals and enthusiasts alike has grown at an astounding pace,” expressed Dale Pistilli, vice president of marketing for WD’s branded products group.
The hard drive comes equipped with the company’s GreenPower Technology which gulps down around one-third less power than standard dual-drive external storage options. The cooling architecture and power-saving mode further augment the performance bar.
“The My Book Studio Edition II drive now available with 6 TB of storage provides creative individuals with the expanded storage and bandwidth they need to effectively shoot, edit, and safely store their video productions without the need to compress their videos or reduce the overall quality of them for the sake of available space,” added Pistilli.
The drive puts across a quad interface offering supreme execution and flexibility including eSATA and FireWire 800 when optimum performance is required, and FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 when system flexibility enters the scene.
Backed by a five-year limited warranty, the 6 terabyte drive also boasts of its automatic and continuous backup software.
WD’s My Book Studio Edition II dual-drive version is available now through the company’s online store. The 6 terabyte model has been priced at $549.99 (approx Rs. 24,749).
