Silicon Power tosses in Velox V20 series solid state drive
Higher storage solutions seem to have become a significantly essential requirement in personal computing systems. Keeping this in mind, Silicon Power has announced its latest Velox V20 series solid state drive. The newest entrant boasts of the SandForce controller, delivering a maximum read-speed of 258MB/s and write-speed of 275MB/s.
The 40GB V20 SSD claims to require only 13 seconds to boot into Windows and quickly open a program. The unit lends support to TRIM Command and Garbage Collection technology to restrict undesired performance issues. The SandForce controller’s patented DuraClass technology is touted to enhance SSD lifespan by around five years.
The DuraWrite technology optimizes the to-be written data to a reserved seven percent flash memory storage block that functions as an intermediate station before data is written with an amplification less than 1 to their final storage blocks. Backed by a three-year warranty, the solution comes with a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch adapter bracket, thereby enabling owners to seamlessly install into a desktop PC.
Users can snap up this solution in varying capacities like 40GB, 60GB, 120GB and 240GB. Besides shock and vibration capabilities, the device is compliant with the European RoHS directives.
The pricing and availability details are unclear as of now.
