Buffalo steps in with HD-PXT series MiniStation portable HDD

It may be safe to say that it’ll be a long time until portable HDDs are completely ousted by other external storage devices. Buffalo Technology has brought out the HD-PXT320U2 and HD-PXT500U2 MiniStation portable HHDs in capacities of 320GB and 500GB, respectively. The drives have been attributed with TurboCopy and TurboPC software that deliver higher data transfer speeds as compared to previously released models.
The drive is compatible Microsoft’s Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 OS and Mac OS x 10.4 or later versions. It hosts a USB 2.0 interface that accommodates USB 1.1 too and is bus powered. Compatible hardware is listed as DOS/V (OADG spec) PC or Mac 9(Intel CPU model) with a USB port. The device displays dimensions of 90mm x 20mm x 134mm and tips the scale at around 240g.
“Packed with many innovative features the MiniStation HD-PXT Series is the ultimate passport to double standard transfer speeds, shock protection, automatic hardware encryption and power!” elaborated Susumu Kobayashi, Country Head of Buffalo Technology.
Buffalo’s latest offering is endowed with a shock protection body, automatic hardware encryption for data backup and flat cable storage. TurboCopy quickens the standard Windows copying function, while TurboPC aids in increasing PC speed and utilizes the PC’s internal HDD for caching. The energy efficiency of the device comes courtesy of its eco Manager.
The drive flaunts a glossy finish and non-slip silicone grip on the exterior. It is drenched in shades of ruby red, crystal black or pearl white. Buffalo’s HD-PXT320U2 and HD-PXT500U2 cost Rs.9,000 and Rs.13,000, correspondingly. Each is sold with a miniUSB cable, utilities, user manual and is backed by a three-year warranty.
