Samsung Spinpoint MT2 HDD with 1TB storage capacity
The latest news out of Samsung’s kitty is that it has started shipping the Spinpoint MT2 2.5” internal mobile HDD with 1TB of storage space. With voluminous 1TB of storage capacity, it can be used with portable storage solution and other applications such as digital TVs, home media systems and set-top boxes.
It integrates 333GB per-platter functionality and its noise levels are managed through the built-in SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies. With about 12.5mm thickness, the device operates at a speed of 5400rpm and integrates Native Command Queuing features. It comes with an enhanced suspension for multidisc and offers a 20 percent faster read and write facility.

Park VP, storage marketing, Samsung Electronics. “As the total storage solution provider, Samsung is committed to offering products that features exceptional performance and value across a wide range of computing and consumer electronics markets.”
Incorporating the SATA 3.0GB/s interface, the HDD exhibits shock resistance levels of 400G in active mode and 800G when the power is off. The offerings stability and reliability is backed by Samsung’s dynamic balancing technology. Moreover, the unit is free of harmful chemicals. Thus, it conforms to European Union’s Directive standards. Apart from the 8MB buffer memory, the HDD can be purchased with either 750GB or 1TB options.
The initial shipments of the Spinpoint MT2 HDD have been made available.
