Keep data safe with LaCie XtremKey USB Flash Drive

Lacie Xtremkey In the first week of July we reported that Funko launched four flash drives which resembled characters from Star Wars. Now, LaCie unveiled XtremeKey which provides industrial strength and protection for data saved on the USB flash drive. The new storage solution is designed to be sturdy yet portable. It paves the way with 64GB storage capacity and features an opaque shell which ensures great protection of users’ important data.

XtremKey’s flash memory is stored within a 2mm metal pipe casing. It is wrapped with wear-resistant screw threads and a rubber O-ring which makes it waterproof for up to 100 meters. The device can withstand 5-meter drops, severe heat and harsh cold and can be used in various environments. The new XtremKey constitutes Zamac which can significantly resist pressure of a 10-ton truck. Zamac is made up of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper. The USB flash drive is less than three inches tall and ensures to render strength, safety and utmost storage for convenient usage.

The flash drive is enabled with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface and offers immediate compatibility. It transfers data at great speed and provides cross-platform convenience to all PC and Mac users. Additionally, it provides writing speeds up to 30 Mb/s and reading up to 40 Mb/s. XtremKey operates persistently to keep users’ data protected throughout the day. These flash drives come in capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB.

The LaCie XtremKey will be available in August through the LaCie Online Store, LaCie Corner, and LaCie Reseller. The device will be available with a starting price of $49.99 (approx. Rs. 2,300).
