Seagate brings BlackArmor line of storage solutions to India
Keeping SMBs in mind, Seagate has brought new members of their BlackArmor family of storage solutions to the Indian market. These include Seagate’s BlackArmor NAS 440/420, BlackArmor NAS 220, BlackArmor NAS 110 storage servers as well as the BlackArmor WS 110 workstation external drive.
The four-bay NAS 440/420 storage servers can be used with up to fifty networked computers. The NAS 420 integrates two drives in a four drive body, while the NAS 440 has four drives. The NAS 220 provides centralized network storage and secure remote access in a compact form factor. This SMB-focused device is capable of rendering data protection for a maximum of twenty PCs and offers 4TB of shared storage capacity.

Seagate’s NAS 110 storage server is devised for centralized storage and media streaming for up to ten PCs. It accommodates Windows Server 2008 and Wiki server. Users can take advantage of its 2TB capacity to access and share content over a common network. The WS 110 workstation external drive has an eSATA cum USB 2.0 dual interface and extends a secure direct attached external storage and backup solution. Fitted into a piano black colored chassis, this device is designed to stand vertically or lie flat.
All of the aforementioned storage solutions are attributed with AES 256-bit encryption, automated full-system backup and SafetyDrill+ software which is a bare metal recovery feature meant for improved data protection. SafetyDrill+ is capable of restoring the entire system in the occasion of a virus attack, PC crash or hardware failure. This software is pre-loaded on all BlackArmor branded products and does not call for additional installation.
Seagate’s BlackArmor 8TB NAS 440, 4TB NAS 420, 4TB NAS 220 storage servers cost Rs.99,000, Rs.52,500, Rs.42,000, respectively. The 1TB NAS 110 server is tagged at Rs.12,000, while its 2TB model costs Rs.19,000. The BlackArmor WS 110 external drive workstation is priced at Rs.8,000 and Rs.13,000 for the 1TB and 2TB versions, correspondingly.
