Sony extends new range of SD/SDHC and microSD/microSDHC memory cards

Miniaturization of memory card sizes may be the norm, but that does mean reduced functionality. Sony has graced the scene with a whole range of SD/SDHC and microSD/microSDHC memory cards that are claimed to be attributed with hardware as also software which deliver an entertainment experience for everyone.

The cards are cited to proffer Class 4 data transfer speed for stable HD video recording and come with File Rescue and x-Pict Story software. The Memory Stick array has been extended with a model featuring proximity wireless transfer technology dubbed Transfer Jet.

Class 4 data transfer speed assists in unwavering HD video recording and enough speed to match up to the functions performed by today’s high end cameras and similar devices. The cards are shock proof and operate within temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C.

File Rescue software aids in retrieval of content that is damaged or deleted by accident. X-Pict Story software lets users merge music with photos to create slideshows and share them with others or even on YouTube. Memory Stick owners can avail of File Rescue and x-Pict Story software downloads for free.

Sony’s SD/SDHC array of cards are offered in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities, while their microSD/microSDHC line-up will be out in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities with an SD adapter included as standard. The SD and microSD array will hits shelves in February 2010.
