Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 supports USB 3.0

Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 HDD The USB 3.0 craze is catching up pretty fast. Earlier Freecom revealed its external hard drive that supports USB 3.0 connectivity. Now, Buffalo has joined the league with the introduction of the DriveStation HD-HXU3. The HD-HXU3 is an external hard drive that supports USB 3.0. It is also said to incorporate the ability to instantly backup important data.

The HD-HXU3 will allow users to share office work, digital photos, music and movies from one central location. The drive promises to offer data transfer speeds of up to 125Mbps. Flaunting an all new slick, black glossy design, these drives will be made available in three capacities including 1.0TB, 1.5TB and 2.0TB.

Tim Scale, EMEA Product Marketing Director, Buffalo Technology said, “The new DriveStation HD-HXU3 combines both USB 3.0 performance, and the latest hard disk technology, tied in with Japanese based Buffalo’s renowned high quality design to create a massive jump in performance, copying Gigabyte files in just seconds. Truly amazing and ground breaking technology, another first from Buffalo Technology.”

The main feature of this new Buffalo DriveStation is its backward compatible. This drive is said to work flawlessly with all USB 2.0 devices including computers and notebooks. Along with this, the company has also launched the Buffalo USB 3.0 controller called the IFC-PCIE2U3. This controller will allow users to reap full benefits of the speeds offered by the USB 3.0 technology.

The Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 USB 3.0 external hard drive is expected to be made available in the Europe, Middle East and Africa in the last quarter of this year. The company will also offer a USB controller at the same time. The pricing details of these devices are yet to be disclosed.
