Those bound to drop their hard drives and worry about the security of that precious data can now get their hands on the ultra-protective, shockproof PQI portable hard drive. PQI’s this offering is entitled H560 and enables backup at the press of a button, reports TechFresh.

Putting back the traditional rectangular look, this uniquely designed hard drive is built of special rubber material and incorporates the internal shock-absorption suspension technology. The device is compliant with the US military grade drop test, MIL-STD-810F 516.5 procedure IV (transit drop test), making it durable and sturdy.

This 2.5-inch SATA interface hard drive offers compatibility with USB2.0 and is backwards compatible with USB 1.1 as well. It also brings in data security with encryption including data security software, Ur Fortress that offers data encryption for personal files negating unauthorized accesses.

Users can pick the H560 in 320GB, 500GB and 640GB storage capacities. H560’s USB cable is attached while the drive conveniently houses it. This eliminates the hassles of carrying a USB cable. The pricing and availability details are unclear.
