Corsair has announced the launch of P256, a 256GB solid-state drive. The device claims to use improved technology to render better performance and compatibility.

The drive comes integrated with Samsung MLC flash player, Samsung Controller IC and 128MB of cache memory. The device support Native Command Queuing which assists in stutter-free performance. The solid-state drive is capable of rendering a reading speed of 220MB/sec and a write speed of 200MB/sec.

“The Corsair Storage Solutions P256 delivers the best computing experience of any single storage drive available today,” quoted John Beekley, VP of Applications Engineering at Corsair, “Using the P256 results in immediate and dramatic improvements in system startup and shutdown, game level loading, application startup, and many other everyday tasks. Additionally, the P256 is more durable and reliable than hard disk drives, and has been shown in the Corsair Labs to provide up to 25% longer battery life in portable computers.”

The device features a 256GB memory that provides the required space to store advanced operating systems, applications and large size music and video files. The P256 is said to be the most compatible drive available in the market, the credit for this goes to its controller and flash memory technology.

The P256 is available for purchase from all Corsair’s authorized dealers and resellers along with a two year limited warranty and complete customer support. The price of the product still remains undisclosed.
