Kingston has launched upgrade bundles of SSDNow V Series solid-state drives (SSDs). These SSDs are available in 128GB and 64GB capacities for mass-market, small and medium size businesses.

Kingston’s SSDNow V Series upgrade bundles offer easy and advanced upgrade path that delivers improved performance on existing desktop PCs. One can easily transfer the data from HDD to SSD by following step-by-step instructions offered by the integrated cloning software.

Users don’t need to reload the OS. When all the content is transferred to the SSD, the HDD can be utilized for saving additional content like movies, music, pictures and files.

“Our focus has been to bring improvement to the everyday functions such as speeding up boot up times and opening applications, at compelling price points, to complement the existing hard drive in desktops,” said Louis Kaneshiro, senior technology manager, Kingston.

The SSDs do not feature any moving parts. Hence, it ensures rugged, efficient PC with minimum heat generation. Moreover, it comes with external enclosure to provide space for additional storage while maintaining the original hard drive.

“Based on our internal suite of benchmark tests, users can expect to see an overall drive improvement of approximately 50 percent over existing 7200RPM and 5400RPM hard-disk drives,” Kaneshiro added.

This Kingston series offers 100MB/sec read and 80MB/sec write speeds along with 2.5-inch form factor. It utilizes NAND Flash memory components.

The shock-resistant SSDs support S.M.A.R.T. technology and feature storage temperature ranging between -40 degrees celsius to 85 degrees celsius along with 0 degrees celsius to 70 degrees celsius operating temperature.

SSDNow V Series upgrade bundle kits come with 2.5″ USB SATA external enclosure (notebook bundle only), SATA data and power cable extenders (desktop bundle only), 3.5-inch mounting brackets and hardware (desktop bundle only), Acronis True Image cloning software and CD installation guide and Kingston SSDNow V Series solid-state drive.
