Qnap releases the Intel Atom-based TS-239 Pro Turbo NAS with iSCSI

Qnap Systems present its latest 2-bay Intel Atom-based NAS for SMB and SOHO users known as the TS-239 Pro Turbo. This product incorporates 1GB DDRII memory, the Intel 1.6GHz CPU and features Disk on Module architecture. This NAS is ideal for businesses that deal with data intensive work.

According to the NetBench test, the NAS when used by 20 clients together delivered a high throughput of over 350MBit/s. This is noted to be 3 times faster than any other NAS brand competing in the same league. This server supports hot-swappable disk trays with locks, two 2TB hard drives, two eSATA ports and three USB 2.0 ports.

With all these features integrated into the system, the TS-239 has turned into a top class 2-bay NAS model with best required specifications that deliver performance. It brings to the market high redundancy, storage capacity, stability and scalability. This NAS from Qnap supports Linux, Windows, Mac and UNIX OS. The system also sports advanced features like AES 256-bit volume-based encryption, Wake on LAN and integrated iSCSI target service of max 8 iSCSI devices with Thin Provisioning.

Also included in the NAS are automatic policy-based IP blocking, BT and EMule download, immediate SMS and e-mail alert. Schedule power on and off, Online RAID capacity expansion and level Migration and two IP-based cameras for network surveillance is also enabled in the storage device. For the Surveillance Station consumers can monitor and record video footage from the two cameras. This helps increase the security in the workplace or office.

This Pro Turbo NAS is packed with loads of diversified features. These include FTP server, editable php.ini, network server, web server with built-in phpMyAdmin, Joomla, MySQL/ SQLite and printer server for up to 3 printers. With the QPKG software expansion embedded into the device users can add more software applications to the NAS server. This allows customers to set up their very own web page by WordPress or mail server by XDove.

The price and availability of the 2-bay Intel Atom-based TS-239 Pro Turbo NAS from Qnap is not known.
