A-DATA toughens up with new waterproof and shock resistant SH93 HDD
Portable HDDs always seem to be in danger of falling down or having water spilt on them. With this in mind, A-DATA Technology has now come out with the HDD SH93, super-strong, waterproof and shock-resistant portable hard disk.
Large amounts of data can be lost from drives if water is spilt over them or they suffer a fall. In an age where people are constantly exchanging large amounts of video, music, data and other files via portable drives, companies have recognized the need for resilient HDDs. The SH93’s components include a rubber-plastic mix and cushioning materials.
The device has under gone MIL-STD-810F drop tests and has also survived 30 minutes of 1M waterproof testing. Being waterproof and fall-resistant, it can be transported around fearlessly. The USB cabled fits neatly into a slit that surrounds the sides of the drive which comes in capacities of 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 640GB.
The product is out in a bright racing car yellow color with a 3-year warranty. Additionally, all customers can download value-added applications, HDDtoGO as well as receive a 2-month trial pack of Norton Internet Security.
The price tagged to this product has not been revealed as yet.
