Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage System Available Worldwide
Iomega has rolled out its latest easy-to-use network storage unit, dubbed the Iomega StorCenter ix2, across the globe.
Targeted at small businesses and the home, the StorCenter ix2 comes in two different storage capabilities: 1 TB and 2 TB. It provides a centralized storage of important data for secured access over a local network.
Jonathan Huberman – President of Iomega and the Consumer and Small Business Products Division of EMC, explained, “The new StorCenter ix2 is a powerful network storage appliance that brings EMC’s world class storage technologies to consumers and small businesses in an easily understandable way and at a price they can afford. The ix2 puts even the most non-technical person at ease with its straightforward operation. But behind the scenes, the ix2 utilizes advanced data protection and data management programs that haven’t been available to consumers and small businesses before. With the ix2, users are literally four clicks away from storage technologies built on the heritage of those that protect data at the world’s largest organizations, all at a cost of less than $300.”
The StorCenter ix2 comes with an optional Bluetooth connectivity for users to transfer contents and a compatible Axis video surveillance camera for real-time viewing and recording of activities and security technology.
Compatible with EMC’s LifeLine software, the StorCenter ix2 operates a suite of applications and upgraded features to match the demands of the Small business requirements.
In addition, the new Iomega storage device sports a built-in support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) to sync different consumer devices for sharing multimedia files. It supports iTunes, allowing users to connect other apple devices.
Iomega’s StorCenter ix2 shows compatibility a Gigabit Ethernet connection and comes equipped with two high-performance SATA-II drives, up to two USB ports and integrated EMC Retrospect Express backup software to protect data. An ideal storage product for Home, the StorCenter ix2 Network Storage appliance is compatible with Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems.
Available worldwide, the Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage appliance 1TB and 2 TB have a price tag of $299.99 (approx. Rs. 14,615) and $479.99 (approx. Rs. 23,380), respectively.
