Biometric and Anti-Virus USB Drives announced by LG
LG has unleashed two new USB drives that come with a special feature. Out of the two, one sports biometric function, whereas the other carries an anti-virus and malware protection software. Both the USB drives are first of its kind devices from LG.
Claiming to be the company’s first biometric-equipped USB drive, it features fingerprint recognition technology that provides extra security while the data is transferred. Users have to scan their fingerprints through bespoke identification software within the USB, only when they use it for the first time. They are allowed to register up to 10 fingerprints.
Employing maximum peace of mind, the security function offers a safety ejection that makes sure of preventing data corruption and ‘favorites’ function for access to internet links. The biometric USB drive is available in black and is housed in a UV coated finish. Weighing 18 grams, the USB drive from LG has a storage capacity, ranging between 512MB and 4GB.
The Anti-Virus USB, called the Vaccine USB, bundles anti-virus and malware protection software. This offers an additional layer of protection and automatically monitors incoming traffic for viruses via real-time system monitoring and hardware scans. This USB drive also has the ability to protect any computer or notebook PC from the moment it is inserted with its “plug and auto run” function.
Users also get to conduct in-depth hardware scans to verify the presence of infection and repair to cure or eliminate defected files. The anti-virus and malware firmware is frequently enhanced via automatic downloads. Moreover, a 2-year period license is available for free.
Available in matt black with a mirrored front, the Vaccine Anti-Virus USB drive supports the storage capacity that ranges from 512MB to 8GB.
Pricing and availability of LG’s two USB drives are yet to be confirmed.
