Thinner Amazon Kindle coming in August?
The number of eReaders entering the markets has been increasing. We’ve seen eReaders from manufacturers like Sony, Barnes & Noble and several others. Amazon now plans to put forward the next version of its Kindle electronic-book reader. Bloomberg reports, Amazon is all set to slide the covers off the new form of the Kindle in August.
Reportedly, the newer version of Kindle will pose in a slimmer form with comprehensive screen and sharper picture. Moreover, it isn’t expected to feature touchscreen or color. The Kindle comes with a black-and-white screen that looks like a paper.
Apparently, the new version offers sharper contrast which makes e-books look like real books. The page turn delays are said to be shorter. Reportedly, James McQuivey, an analyst at Forrester Research Inc said, “It’s probably likely that Amazon already had this one in mind, more out of a response to Sony than out of any response to Apple. Amazon.com may not have a direct challenger to the iPad this year.”
Well, if this device isn’t supposedly an iPad competitor, we would still like to see yet another advanced device from Amazon cropping up some competition for the iPad.
