Rumor: Intel to launch Core i5 and i7 processors this month

Intel Logo The Internet is abuzz with rumors that claim Intel will be giving its Core i5 and i7 CPUs an official introduction, reports Engadget. Corsair launched a new range of DDR3 memory modules for Core i5 and i7 CPU just last week and it looks like Intel is trying to complement Corsair’s move and bank upon it.

Reportedly, DigiTimes states that Intel is gearing up to launch its new Core i5-750, Core i7-860 and Core i7-870 CPUs on September 8. The September 8 launch date for these CPUs has been rumored for quite some time now. Apparently, channel market demand is expected to be on the rise this September. Moreover, the sales of motherboards are also expected to boost up by 15-20 percent sequentially in the fourth quarter. However, Intel has refrained from commenting on these rumors.

Along with the launch of the Core i5 and i7 processors, Intel also plans to launch the P55 chipset. It is also speculated that by the end of the year P55 based motherboards will consist of almost 20 percent of the motherboard shipments. The other details about the launch of these Intel CPUs are well guarded by the company.
