DivX Certified DVS450H DVD Player Announced by LG

LG DVS450H DVD Player

LG has signed a deal with DivX for the DivX Certification of its latest DVD player. Dubbed DVS450H, the new player is capable of playing high-definition DivX video. The sleek player can be mounted on a wall and allows consumers to enjoy high-definition DivX videos burned to DVD’s or stored on USB flash drives.

Leaving behind the conventional HD video requirement of using considerable amount of digital storage space, the LG DVS450H playersignificantly reduces the digital file size of the video and at the same time promises to offer superior media experience by maintaining the highest visual quality using DivX technology.

“The demand for products that play DivX video has continually driven us to produce solutions that maximize this high-quality experience across a range of product categories. Incorporating support for high-definition DivX video on this DVD player illustrates this in a significant way. We are committed to bringing our customers the very best entertainment solutions and are pleased that working with DivX fulfills this vision,” commented Dan D.H. Koh, Head of Marketing Strategy Team in LG Electronics’ Digital Media Company.

According to Kevin Hell, Chief Executive Officer, DivX, Inc, “Bringing high-definition video to LG’s newest DVD player illustrates our mission of enabling a high-quality media experience across any device. This new player from LG simplifies the consumer transition to HD entertainment by providing a high-definition experience on a familiar DVD platform. We are delighted to work with LG in bringing consumers a premium solution for their digital content.”

LG’s DivX-capable DVD player is compatible with a wide range of formats such as DiVX HD, XviD-H, MP3, WMA and JPEG files.

Users can grab the LG DVS450H DVD Player in October for a suggested price of $235 (approx. Rs. 18,695).
