Twelve South intros BassJump for Macbook

Twelve South BassJump Macbook

Macbook owners can now transform their Apple device to a mini sound system with the latest BassJump subwoofer introduced by Twelve South. The USB powered subwoofer is designed specially for MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Once the BassJump software is installed, users simply need to connect one single USB cable and launch iTunes to enjoy booming music. The software seamlessly blends the audio from MacBook speakers with the low frequency bass from the BassJump subwoofer. With the BassJump preferences window, users can customize the sound such as rock, pop, R&B and more.

Andrew Green, Designer of the BassJump quoted, “Like many Twelve South products, BassJump is designed to simplify and enhance your Mac experience. MacBooks have great speaker elements built-in, they just need a little low-end assistance. So why litter your desk with piles of cables and plastic speakers when you can add a beautiful simple Aluminum subwoofer and make the speakers you already have – work better. That is the vision that BassJump delivers. And it’s powered by one USB connection, making it completely portable too.”

The BassJump software also presents users with visual feedback in the form of two glowing, old-school analog VU-meters. Further, a mini VU-meter is also placed in the Menu Bar for quick access to settings. The portable subwoofer measures 2.24” x 5” x 5” and comes with a BassJump 30-inch USB cable and BassJump travel case. This 2.1 sound system weighs about 1.4 pounds.

The portable subwoofer can be purchased from the Apple App Store US and Canada and online at Twelve South for $79.99.
