Gigabyte Aire M1 retractable mouse rolled in

Gigabyte Aire M1 Mouse

The Gigabyte Aire M1 retractable optical mouse has been unveiled along with the confusing statement about resolving to lay more stress on the ‘design and taste’ of the Aire series. As far as we can see, there was nothing about eating a mouse in the whole announcement.

At any rate, we’ll give Gigabyte the benefit of the doubt as the peripheral looks interesting enough, edible or not. The first product to gallop out of the company’s stable for 2012, the mouse can apparently be very useful to office folks ‘who always rush from meetings to meetings.’ Mainly built with laptops in mind, the Aire M1 cuts away from the cord when not hooked onto a PC’s port.

We’re not talking about wireless connectivity here. From the product page, it looks like the mouse needs a cord for connecting to a notebook, though the last mentioned is retractable. Meaning, a cable which can be stowed away quickly and prevent users from tripping up on a dangling one while sprinting to boardroom meetings is the M1’s most convincing feature. What’s more, there’s no need of a battery since it draws power through the USB port.

The overall design of the chassis is chipped away to a reasonably small size so that it’s easy to get a hold on. The sides of this piece of Gigabyte hardware are affixed with rubber grips. The company appears to be selling the device in two shades, namely, black and midnight blue.

The Gigabyte Aire M1 price hasn’t received a clear mention as yet. The retractable cable attached to the mouse does however, come with two years of warranty.
