The latest peripheral to set foot in India is the Portonics Por 315 pico projector, a palm-sized, battery-powered device that claims to be a powerful mobile computing platform. The compact gadget can establish connections with USB drives without help from a computer system and allows expanding its memory using microSD cards.

The peripheral deployed with a 45 lumen optical engine powered by LCOS, claims to project pictures in 1020 x 600p resolution. It can reproduce colorful images of about 80 inches, while it is said to last for a long period of time spanning up to 20,000 hours. The portable and lightweight device extends support to HDMI connections and is embedded with an expansion slot to insert an SD card.

Integrated with a 1 watt speaker to produce clear audio, the pico projector provides connectivity options like VGA, composite video input and USB port. The built-in 3000mAh lithium-ion battery coughs up the juice for about two hours at a stretch. Moreover, it can also display images directly from a USB drive.

Users may employ the projector for a number of applications, as it supports a wide range of file formats. Besides picture formats such as JPEG, BMP and PNG, it can play back WMA, MP3 and AAC audio files. The video formats supported by the device are inclusive of MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, MOV, FLV, DivX, H264, MJPEG and RMVB amongst others.

The Portonics Por 315 Pico projector price and availability details have been disclosed. It is now up for grabs for a price of Rs. 23,000, across the country. Whether we’d like to believe it or not, the gadget apparently does not have any maintenance cost, according to the company.
