Intel launches 2nd generation Intel Core processors, reveals super sleek laptops

Oscar Wilde’s grizzled words ‘to expect the unexpected shows a thoroughly modern intellect’ quite a lot illustrated Intel’s latest move in the technological sphere. At an event held in Mumbai yesterday, the company launched the highly anticipated game changing 2nd generation Intel Core processor family.
Along with this, we were introduced to some new features and services designed to deliver a new visual experience with processor graphics built-in. Among the newest features include a new version of Intel’s Wireless Display entitled Intel Quick Sync Video. Designed to render optimum functionality, the technology capably adds 1080p high-definition and content protection for users agog about beaming premium HD content from their laptop screen to their television.
The second generation of processors quite meticulously conjugates visual and 3D graphics technology with performance-leading microprocessors on a single chip. The peripheral accommodates Intel HD graphics on each 32nm die to put across noteworthy graphics performance improvements.
“The new 2nd Generation Intel Core processors represent the biggest advance in computing performance and capabilities over any other previous generation,” shared R. Sivakumar, Managing Director, Sales & Marketing Group, Intel South Asia. “The built-in visual capabilities enabled by these new processors are stunning. This, combined with improved adaptive performance, will revolutionize the PC experience in a way that is obvious for every user to see and appreciate – a visibly smarter performance.”

We could also catch a glimpse of Intel demonstrating the positive aspects of Intel Wi-Di 2.0 by projecting content from Star’s online portal to a big screen HDTV. Adding to this was a teaser from Call of Duty which revealed the potentiality of the processor for immersive mainstream gaming.
“These new features are bound to appeal to your senses and give you a better looking PC experience,” continued R. Sivakumar. “The visual features built into the processor deliver everything for a stunning and seamless experience when viewing and interacting with all your PC visuals. So what you see looks amazing and runs without any interruptions.”
The enhanced Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 was introduced as well which automatically reallocates processor core and processor graphics resources to accelerate performance. Besides this, we spotted Dell’s Inspiron Duo running Intel’s advanced technologies to render a complete user experience.
Though not much detail was leaked, Intel’s new incredibly sleek netbook prototype was showcased at the event. We found the concept quite a lot sleeker than Apple’s MacBook. Apart from this, OpenPeak tablet powered by Intel’s breakthrough technology was revealed.

Stealing the show was Acer’s dual screen laptop. The truly fetching piece of innovation features a massive touchscreen and replaces a virtual keyboard by integrating another touchscreen at its place. For those wondering ‘how’d one type,’ placing ten fingers on the lower touchscreen to activate the keypad topples as an answer. Portable computing solutions from Lenovo further completed the show.
More than 500 laptop and desktop PC platform are anticipated from all major OEMs worldwide throughout the next year. In India, systems are likely to be made available from OEMs like HCL, Wipro, MSI, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba and Dell as well as from local channel partners.
