The approach that resounds as, ‘one-size-fits-all’ may be apt for other areas around tech world but it seems to be simply downright out of place as far as PC audio is concerned. Various users have their desired set of features and demands that need to be fulfilled. Sony seems to have heard their plea and unfurled across three new models namely SRS-A3, SRS-D4 and SRS-D5 PC speakers with the latter two being gaming and video optimized.
The newest entrant in the versatile SRS A series, the A3 are twin compact cabinets that offer a total of 5W clear stereo and punchy bass via the reflex port. There is a built-in digital amplifier for lower power consumption and high efficiency along with a right tilt to enhance the audio quality. Other attributes include integrated controls, magnetically shielded speakers, easy setup and a headphone jack.
Sony SRS D series bring to the arena enhanced levels of bass response and output power. The SRS-D4 and SRS-D5 both feature 2.1 speaker system with angled satellite cabinets, digital amplification, magnetically shielded speakers, built-in controls and precision-engineered cabinets. The company also reveals that excellent sound quality can be expected with these two models.
The SRS-D4 is looked upon as the entry-level D Series product that boasts of 27W output from its 2.1 speaker format. The compact sub-woofer accommodates volume, bass volume and power controls while the satellites shine in a distinctive raised border located around the speaker grill. The overall features are further complimented with a definitive design accent and high finish.
The SRS-D5 offers 40W and sports a larger appearance when pitted against the D4. Medium density fibreboard is employed for the sub-woofer in order to provide better sound quality. The controls are seen merged into one of the satellites which makes it easy to access especially if the sub-woofer is on the floor.
