TRENDnet offers connectivity with 450Mbps Wireless N Gaming Adapter
Gamers might just be pampered with newer and speedier connectivity options with this latest device. TRENDnet has recently released its new 450Mbps Wireless N Gaming Adapter at CES, the TEW-687GA. According to some tests, this latest offering is believed to cross the 150Mbps performance barrier when paired with a 450Mbps router like TEW-691GR.
Boasting of a simple setup, the wireless device does not require any drivers for installation. Its Gigabit Ethernet port enables higher performance with wired connections. A maximum theoretical wireless throughput of 450Mbps is generated by the Advanced Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna technology with three spatial streams per antenna.
“TRENDnet was ecstatic to be able to deliver the first ever 450Mbps wireless n router to market in early June of last year, followed by the first ever 450Mbps access point last month. The fact that we are also on pace to launch the very first 450Mbps wireless n adapter is yet another signal of TRENDnet’s ability to innovate in the wireless networking space,” asserted Pei Huang, President and CEO of TRENDnet.
Through the touch of a button, users can integrate the Wi-Fi Protected Setup with other WPS supported wireless adapters. The TEW-687GA ensures easy connection by simply pressing the WPS button on the device and the router. The WMMA Quality of Service (QoS) technology plans out gaming, Internet calls and video streams. Moreover, the device status is conveyed with the LEDs placed on the front of the adapter.
The TEW-687GA 450Mbps Wireless N Gaming Adapter is anticipated to be available this month through the company’s online and retail partners for $149.99 (approx Rs. 6,780).
