Plugable’s first dock featuring DisplayLink USB technology

Plugable DC-125 Zero client devices like this next one offer optimum utility by allowing connections of several peripherals to a single PC. To help lead this charge, Plugable has officially announced the inclusion of DisplayLink USB virtual graphics technology in their first integrated zero client device sporting universal dock station capabilities.

The latest Plugable DC-125 USB 2.0 docking client is capable of seamlessly hooking up a laptop with an additional display, two USB 2.0 ports as well as speakers, all using a single USB cable. Zero client solutions are aimed at benefiting businesses and institutions such as schools or colleges by providing multiple computing experiences without having to use as many PCs. This Plugable offering is touted to be a good solution as it eradicates the need for complicated setup or extra CPUs.

“DisplayLink technology is so versatile that we’ve been able to provide a variety of universal docks, USB graphics adapters and now zero client devices that extend the capabilities and value from PC purchases,” expressed Bernie Thompson, founder of Plugable. “The many ways to leverage virtual graphics technology continues to evolve, while DisplayLink’s experience in the USB graphics market allows for unmatched compatibility.”

Apart from offering USB connectivity, the dock is compatible with VGA monitors delivering display resolutions of up to 1,280 × 1,024p or 1,440 × 900p. It works well with Mac OS X, Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, while it acts a client station for Windows Multipoint Server 2011 or 2010. Additionally, this device includes a monitor attachment and a PC stand.

The Plugable DC-125 USB 2.0 docking client costing $64.95 (approx Rs. 2,933) can be purchased by U.S. consumers through Amazon. UK customers can order the same via Amazon UK.
