Epson flashes in Pro Cinema 9350 and 9700 UB home theater projectors

Epson Logo Home theater solutions seem to be enhanced with the help of home theater projectors. After JVC and Mitsubishi rolled out with new projectors for home entertainment, Epson has decided to offer multimedia buffs with two new 1080p home theater projectors designed for the custom AV installer channel, the PowerLite Pro Cinema 9350 and 9700 UB.

Packed in with Epson’s latest 3LCD technology featuring C2Fine chip sets, these latest peripherals deliver stunning colors and detail as well as high contrast ratios. The 9350 is wrapped around with a black and silver case and offers brightness of up to 2,000 lumens color and white light output. Flaunting contrast of up to 50,000:1, this stylish projector comes with Dynamic Iris system for improvising the contrast. This augmentation takes place by controlling light on a frame-by-frame basis at up to 60 times per second.

“Today’s home theater market is extremely competitive, and Epson is committed to developing high-quality, high-performing products that help the custom installation channel stay ahead of the game. We are continuing to pack our Pro Cinema projectors with a slew of value-add features, technology and service in order to deliver the programs and initiatives dealers need to help drive sales,” shared Marge Ang, senior product manager, Epson America.

Offered as the step-up model, the Pro Cinema 9700 UB employs a dual-layered auto-iris in order to effectively control light reduction rates. The company’s D7 chip set and UltraBlack technology helps the peripheral to produce superior black levels and vibrant images. Boasting of 1,600 lumens color brightness and white light output, this projector proffers clear cut detail and deep blacks. Incorporated with Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX video processor and PW390 scaler, the device puts forth a smooth and clear picture.

The 9700 UB comes bundled with Epson’s Super-resolution technology for better picture quality and FineFrame technology for leveled frame interpolation, enhanced video quality and removal of judder. It renders pre-set color space selection to set color gamut according to geography and source material. Apart from this, it can now be used with two types of anamorphic lenses, fixed and movable sled, to project true 2.35:1 and 2.40:1 widescreen images without black bars above and below the picture.

Other highlights of both projectors subsume real color reproduction feature, Fujinon OptiCinema Multi-Lens Optics System (2.1 zoom ratio), Epson Twin Optics Reflection Lamp, five color modes, spare lamp, ceiling mount, reversible front panel, rear panel, cable cover to hide wires, and cable hook to secure connections. Manual zoom, focus and lens shift of up to 47.1 percent horizontal and 96.3 percent vertical ensure several installation options for further flexibility. On the connectivity front, the offerings come integrated with two HDMI 1.3 connections with deep color support, high-definition component video input, S-video input, composite video input, and VGA-type RGB input.

Backed by Epson’s three-year limited warranty, the Pro Cinema 9350 and 9700 UB can be purchased through authorized Epson projector dealers by the end of this month. However, the pricing details of the peripherals are foggy for now.
