Nvidia Quadro 4000 GPU rolled out for Mac Pro

Back in October, Nvidia embraced the market with its two Quadro solutions. The company has now decided to leverage the graphics experience with a new addition to this lineup with the Nividia Quadro 4000 GPU for Mac. The latest graphics processing unit is powered by the Fermi architecture and can be used on Mac OS X Snow Leopard devices.
A host of software suites like the Adobe Mercury Playback Engine in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 can take advantage of the Nvidia Cuda parallel technology for smoother results. Other applications for visual effects and image processing subsume MATLAB from MathWorks, and The Foundry, including NUKE and STORM. The graphics solution offers blazing fast double precision for enhanced performance. With the Nvidia Scalable Geometry Engine technology, the Quadro 4000 for Mac has the ability to process up to 890 million triangles per second, thus rendering maximum benefits for designing purposes.
Featuring 256 Nvidia Cuda processing cores, the peripheral comes with 2GB of fast GDDR5 memory. Additional display flexibility through a DisplayPort and a DVI-I connector is also built into its bracket. Moreover, users can utilize a 3D stereo bracket for optimal stereo connection to the system. Owners can enable up to four high resolution displays from a single Mac Pro using dual Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac boards. For a reliable, compatible and stable graphics experience, users can embed this solution into their Mac OS X v10.6.5 or later.
The Quadro 4000 GPU for Mac costs $1,199 (approx Rs. 54,260) and will be available this month at Apple’s official website as well as select Apple resellers and system integrators. It will also be up for grabs through authorized distribution partners including PNY Technologies in the U.S. and Europe, ELSA in Japan, and Leadtek in Asia Pacific.
