iTwin’s new USB device offers simple and safe data transfer

Consumers petered out with their important files dozing off in silos and being unable to merge them shouldn’t strike us dumb, considering the need to access information popping up throughout the day. To provide such users with a reliable solution, iTwin recently put its plug ‘n’ play USB device across the shelves.
Defining creativity, the twin-stick offering enables remote file access between a pair of USB-powered devices into which each part is plugged. With this one around, users can conveniently keep their files in one place with unprecedented safety. Interestingly, the solution doesn’t bank any data, thereby blotting out the feasibility of loss or theft.
“Everyone can relate to the problems that we set out to solve when developing the iTwin device. Business people and everyday consumers alike expect to be able to access important information anytime, anywhere,” shared iTwin CEO Lux Anantharaman. “iTwin users can travel without a laptop, copy or back-up proprietary work documents, files and folders and remotely access and edit files on one computer from another, ensuring complete versioning control on files with multiple contributors. It’s also the best way to create a family network — share photos from the latest vacation or wedding or exchange documents. iTwin brings peace of mind with its numerous, useful applications.”
The company’s flagship model is inherently secure, utilizing 256-bit AES encryption. Solely the two halves if iTwin are acquainted with the key, procreating a new key every time the two halves are combined. If one half of the device is lost, the connection between the two halves can be disabled. This can lead to the denial of access.
For further security, the solution can also be password protected. Users can now easily junket without a portable computing solution, copy or back up proprietary documents, files and folders and remotely access and edit them on one computer from another.
On deck in only 50 pieces, the unique iTwin device can be purchased now for $99 exclusively from the iTwin store. General availability will take place in January 2011 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
