Logitech revives video conferencing experience with B990 HD webcam
Manufacturers are now enhancing virtual desktop options, thereby enabling complete desktop productivity with the safety and efficiency of centralized management. Well, Logitech has joined hands with Avistar, Citrix and HP to put forth its enticing Logitech B990 HD webcam at Citrix Synergy Berlin.
The device comes equipped with H.264 technology for advanced onboard encoding. The solution lends support to Avistar C3 Integrator desktop video conferencing application and enables users to enjoy HD 720p video conferencing in session-based and VDI desktops.
“We’re continuing to see thin clients shrink in both size and capacity, but by teaming up with Logitech, we’re able to give enterprises the highest-quality desktop video-conferencing experience regardless of their virtualization infrastructure,” commented Bryan Kennedy, vice president of business development, Avistar.
Capable of lowering thin terminal computing overhead, the offering extends support to thin client terminals like the HP t5740 thin client and other platforms and desktop virtualization options like Citrix XenDesktop.
“Desktop virtualization is being widely adopted by all sizes of organizations as a way to enable virtual workstyles for users and increase business agility for IT. Citrix HDX technology ensures users receive the best-possible experience of their virtual desktops, and through relationships with key partners Avistar and Logitech, our combined technologies help ensure a high-definition experience of video communications for Citrix XenDesktop users,” remarked Derek Thorslund, principal product strategist, XenApp product group at Citrix.
The device captivates users with dual-microphone stereo audio and offers seamless plug-and-play. Logitech and Avistar are jointly enabling businesses to enjoy an HD video conferencing experience on low-capacity terminals with HD monitors.
The attractive Logitech B990 HD webcam is anticipated to hit shelves in early 2011.
