Sony outs TransferJet compatible LSIs
Powered by wireless data transfer technology TransferJet, Sony recently unveiled two LSIs christened CXD3267AGG and CXD3268AGW. TransferJet features a highly intuitive interface that enables two devices to communicate just by bringing them close together.
Further, Sony has also integrated the wireless function, signal processing function and host interfaces essential for high-speed communication into a single package by means of CMOS processing. Sony also introduces reference kit and software development kit for developers, which would facilitate the implementation of this technology into products such as cellular phones, digital video cameras, digital still cameras, personal computers and hard disk recorders.
Both these LSIs are capable of selecting the appropriate transmission rate. The 153-pin VFBGA CXD3267AGG measures 11.0mm x 11.0mm x 1.0mm, while the 99-pin WFLGA CXD3268AGW measures 8.0mm x 5.5mm x 0.78mm.
Sony is looking forward to enhance its lineup with the release of three modules incorporating these new LSIs, a compact module for use in mobile products, a PCI Express Mini Card module for notebook PCs and a USB connection module. Both these TransferJet LSI samples carry a price tag of 1,500 yen (approx. Rs. 807) each.
