VIA Eden ULV processor powers Futro thin client series

VIA technologies has affirmed the availability of its new power- efficient ULV processor in the latest Futro thin client series from Fujitsu. The latest 500MHz VIA Eden ULV processor claims of a remarkably low TDP of one watt. It provides improved power efficiency to the next generation, ultra low power and silent-operation thin client series.

The series has a significantly lower TCO, reduced environmental footprint and a radically improved security infrastructure. The VIA Eden processor powers the Fujitsu Futro S100 which is a totally fanless silent thin client and virtual workplace solution.

This processor has been specifically designed to meet the low power requirements of today’s spirited economic settings. It also offers ultra mobile applications including the latest client and virtual workplace solutions.

The product is based on the VIA CoolStream architecture. Though it maintains a low power consumption of only 1 watt peak power and as low as 0.1 watt idle power it has the ability to speed up to 500MHz.With the incorporated VIA StepAhead technology suite it possesses a wide range of performance-enhancing features. It also makes sure that the processor’s performance is not affected by the low power consumption.

There’s no word on the price of this latest offering.
