HP expands its Officejet portfolio with the two new series of printers that are targeted at the small and medium-size businesses. The two new additions are HP Officejet 6000 Printer series and HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer.

The latest professional-quality HP Officejet printers claim to be cost-effective as they are capable of using less energy and consume limited printing costs, enabling professionals to manage, protect and enhance their businesses. They are even tagged as being affordable as they deliver professional-standard color prints at quite lower cost-per-page due to the incorporation of the Officejet inks.

“Recognizing that small businesses are under more pressure than ever to save time and money, we are introducing new products and services to help them operate efficiently and reduce their printing costs without sacrificing quality,” remarked Stacey Wueste, vice president, Worldwide Small and Medium Business Segment, Imaging and Printing Group, HP.

First in the list is the HP Officejet 6000 Printer series that boasts to provide fast print speeds and comes with wired and wireless networking along with an automatic two-sided printing option to save up to 50 percent on paper usage. Classified as Highly Reliable by Buyers Laboratory Inc, the latest series is scheduled to reach the markets globally by June 2009 for a price range of $89-$119 (approx. Rs. 4,220 – Rs. 5,645).

Coming to the next printing solution, the company unveils the HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer that is touted to be HP’s first entry-level wide-format printer that features individual inks and even offers the lowest cost per page as compared to the inkjets. It claims to reproduce professional color documents and stunning photo-quality, borderless prints in an array of sizes, ranging from postcard prints to 13 x 19-inch posters. Expected to hit the North American, Asian, European, Middle East and African markets by the month of July 2009, the printer carries a price tag of $229 (approx. Rs. 10,863).

The company also stated that the base models do not support wireless networking and an automatic two-sided printing option.

Apart from that, the new Officejet printers are qualified for ENERGY STAR support and even come embedded with the HP Eco Highlights label.
