iHome rolls out iHMP5 dual mode headphones
Building on the success of the iP1 speaker system for the iPhone and iPod, iHome has now come up with the iHMP5 dual mode headphones. This device is a unique combination of a stereo speaker and headphone that eliminate the need to carry separate portable speakers while on the move.
The iHMP5 headphone is a unique 2-in-1 Stereo Speaker / Headphone System that is compatible with the iPhone and the iPod. The company claims that the iHMP5 is the first over-the-ear headphone from the company that comes incorporated with an inline pre-amp that when activated can be substituted as a stereo speaker.
“At iHome, we continue to drive innovation throughout our product line by imagining new interpretations of product categories and applying creative design options to make them a reality,” said Evan Stein, vice president of Marketing, iHome. “Our iHMP5 is a perfect example of this as we completely change the way people view headphones by allowing them to turn it into a portable speaker system.”
The iHMP5 can be used as personal headphones or as stereo speakers. The unit is presently available in three colors and comes with a lightweight, adjustable headband. The 360 degree padding on the ear-cups ensure complete noise isolation and comfort during prolonged use. To turn these headphones into stereo speakers users have to simply activate the battery powered amplifier.
The iHome iHMP5 dual mode headphones are currently available for purchase via the Apple Online store and the company’s official website. The headphone will be priced at $59.99 (approx. Rs. 2,925).
