PCTV system intros picoStick USB Digital TV tuner

PCTV system has come up with a new USB digital TV tuner called the picoStick. The main highlight of this tuner is its small form factor. This dainty device has been unveiled at the PlayBite 2009 in London. The device is claimed to be the world’s smallest DVB-T tuner. This tuner also eliminates the need for an antenna.
The tuner features an ultra-small and stylish metal enclosure. The integrated folding clamp of the enclosure is said to protect the USB connector. It also supports H.264 HDTV reception over DVB-T. The picoStick is a USB powered device that promises to be energy efficient in its working.
The device also incorporates video editing software that allows users to trim and edit video files streamed by the tuner. It also offers compatibility with Windows Media Center. The other notable features of the picoStick USB Digital TV tuner include tuning range of 174~862 MHz, USB 2.0 interface and support for formats like MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 AVC / H.264.
The PCTV system picoStick USB Digital TV tuner will be made available for purchase from next week via online retailers like Amazon UK and Play.com. The Digital TV tuner is expected to retail for around £50 (approx. Rs. 3,973).
