Toshiba has announced the addition of the e-STUDIO205L/255/305/355/455 and the e-STUDIO555/655/755/855 Series to its monochrome MFP range of products. Each of these products includes a host of features meant to meet the needs of various business houses.

Some of the features incorporated into these models include standard printing and scanning, full-color touchscreen LCD control panel and USB support. The third generation e-Bridge technology incorporates the Open Platform architecture. This technology allows third party application software to communicate directly with the e-Studio printers. The Toshiba e-Studio455 series includes color scanning functionalities.

“These new lines complete our total monochrome product offering to provide the perfect product for any type of end-user,” said Joseph Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing, TABS. “Additionally, color scanning on the e-STUDIO455 Series is a significant improvement from previous models and a valuable cost-saving feature for small to mid-size businesses that may need color scanning but do not require full-color output.”

The Toshiba e-STUDIO 205L/255/305/355/455 Series are an ideal choice for small and medium sized businesses owing to their copying and printing speeds of 20, 25, 30, 35, 45 ppm, and high copy volumes of 80K, 100K, 120K, 125K and 150K respectively. This series proves to be a low cost alternative for full color MFP devices. These printers also allow images to be captured and stored in full color and then print it in black and white for more professional looking results.

Designed keeping in mind the medium business houses and larger workgroups, the e-STUDIO555/655/755/855 Series have copy and print speeds of 55, 65, 75 and 85 ppm respectively. To increase the reliability and the productivity, the printers include monthly copy volumes of 460K, 515K, 540K and 600K respectively, and periodic maintenance intervals. The design features of these printers include an exceptional toner yield of 62.4K which can be changed even when the system is running.

The re-buildable service module concept implies that the MFP parts which need maintenance are completely replaced with new parts. This allows the periodic maintenance to be carried out in minutes. These modules are also available with the e-STUDIO455 Series.

Like most of the Toshiba products, the e-STUDIO455 and e-STUDIO855 Series also comply with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy Star Tier Two rating specifications. Both these series feature quick start-up technology which minimizes power consumption while the super sleep mode further reduces energy consumption by consuming only one watt of power. These printers also bear the Blue Angel mark and are Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant.

The e-STUDIO455 comes equipped with Outside Edge Erase function that detects and eliminates dark outside edges while scanning or printing to save resources. The Private print and Hold print function further reduces wastage of resources. This function puts a pause to the printing job until the user picks up the previous copy. e-STUDIO455 series automatically detects a blank page and refrains from printing or canning it.

The e-STUDIO455 and e-STUDIO855 Series exceed the security standards of the Department of Defense. The Scrambler Board is now one of the standards and provides 128-bit AES encryption to all data stored on the hard drive. While the data which is stored on the drive temporarily can be overwritten multiple times during the copying and scanning process, all thanks to the Disk-Overwrite Kit.

The Toshiba e-STUDIO455 and e-STUDIO855 Series are now available via Toshiba’s authorized dealers. However, the pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
