Boxee Box officially announced
Well, the Boxee Blog has announced that it has entered into a partnership with a CE company to offer users a dedicated Boxee device. The idea of a dedicated Boxee device was first conceived at the CES earlier this year when several device manufactures offered them partnerships. And now the company has announced that it will soon be offering users a Boxee device called the Boxee box.
Well, the blog refrains from letting out details about this upcoming device as well as the CE Company with whom it has entered into a partnership. The Boxee box claims to bring with it a whole new world of content, applications and innovations. The box is said to be the first device that will operate on Boxee platform and is said to bank on the idea of providing consumers with a way to get Boxee into their living rooms.
The Boxee as a platform will include features that will make it easy for users to consume and find content over the internet. It will also give content owners, aggregators, and developers, various tools to create unique experiences and a variety of business models. Apart from this, it will also enable CE companies to enhance their connected devices.
Well, the company plans to display mock ups of the Boxee Box at the Boxee Beta Unveiling event on December 7. The company also plans to share more details about the upcoming device at this event. There is no word on the pricing of this box as yet.
