Nvidia Tesla C1060 GPU

An economical basic-level computing solution is now a thing of the past. The present is the power of supercomputing to enhance the performance of desktop PCs. Nvidia Corporation ascends a host of GPU optimized applications with the latest computing processor, known as the Tesla C1060 GPU. It is exclusively shipping for Dell Precision R5400, T5500 and T7500 workstations.

Based on the massively parallel CUDA architecture, it promises to simplify many-core programming and outperform a small cluster. It claims to offer cluster level computing performance, which is 250 times faster as compared to the conventional PCs and workstations.

In terms of specifications, the latest Telsa GPU features 240 streaming processor cores that run at 1.3GHz, IEEE 754 single & double floating point precision, 4GB GDDR3 memory, 187.8W of power consumption, PCIex16 system interface, 6-pin and 8-pin auxiliary power connectors and active fan sink for thermal solution. These attributes round out the whole package in a 10.5″ x 4.376″ form factor.

Moreover, it is compatible with Linux, Windows XP and Vista operating systems with Windows Server 2003 and 2008.

Although there is no clarity in the price, the Tesla C1060 GPU is available as a standalone board or as an integrated board in the above mentioned systems.
