Sanyo to roll out 8-color AA-size eneloop rechargeable battery pack
Sanyo have several plans to extend their product lineup of eneloop rechargeable batteries. They are planning to launch an 8-color AA-size eneloop pack known as ‘eneloop tones’. These products are for those who place importance on reusing and recycling.
Users now have the variety to choose from 8 colors namely purple, pink, orange, yellow, light green, green, light blue and blue. The batteries are covered with a stylish case which has a slide-cover. Recycled PET is the only matter used. The batteries are rechargeable roughly 1,500 times. Since the battery is capable of charging several times, eneloop is both more reasonably competitive and eco-friendly as the quantity of overall battery waste can be decreased.
In an agreement with the Green Power Certification System, the new eneloop batteries can be charged by ‘green power’ from the photovoltaic generation. This means that a portion of the electric power utilized for manufacturing eneloop is produced via clean, renewable solar energy.
The mascot of eneloop is known as enloopy which is a doggy character. The battery can be charged by setting an AA-size eneloop in the dog’s body and pressing the knob on the chest. The LED on the nose signifies the remaining battery level by means of 4 diverse colors. Two food dishes and two bones are included with the dog. When the food dish is used as a spacer, an AAA-size eneloop can be set in the eneloopy for battery-level checking. The bone can be used for taking out a battery from the dog’s body.
In addition, the company also intends to release two sets of products that both embrace an easy battery checker designed in the shape of the eneloop mascot eneloopy on November 14 in Japan. One set will encompass eneloopy battery checker and AA-size eneloop batteries and the other set will incorporate the eneloopy battery checker, AA-size eneloop batteries, and a speedy charger
The lineup comes with two kinds of product sets with every set embracing the new AA-size eneloop. The first set includes two AA-size eneloop with eneloopy (HR-3 UTGA-2LP) and the second set is two A-size eneloop with the quick charger (NC-TGR02) for AA/AAA-size eneloop and eneloopy (N-TGR02ALPS).
The 8-color AA-Size eneloop rechargeable pack will be released on December 1, 2009 in Japan.
