Verizon Wireless avails Sierra Wireless USB 598 Modem for use on its network

Sierra Wireless has rolled out the latest modem, dubbed the Sierra Wireless USB 598, exclusively for Verizon Wireless network. With this, Verizon customers, who are constantly on the run, can enjoy quick web browsing support and even fast download speed.

Touted to be a practical alternative to hotspots for digital nomads, the Sierra Wireless USB 598 claims to be capable of delivering speeds at 3.1 Mbps on the downlink and 1.8 Mbps on the uplink. It is said that, users can download 1 MB file in eight seconds and upload the same file in less than 13 seconds.

Compliant wit EV-DO Rev. A technology, the newly launched modem offers average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits per second and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps.

In addition, the available microSD memory slot assists the Sierra Wireless USB 598 to serve as a backup storage device. It even doubles up as a convenient tool to transfer and share photos between a laptop and a phone.

Some of the other features of the Sierra Wireless USB 598 modem for Verizon Wireless network are as follows:

  • TRU-Install software installation technology – Allows first-time users to quickly install the drivers and full software client directly from the modem, without a need of a CD.
