Netgear unleashes ProSafe FSM7226RS, FSM726E Switches
Rashi Peripherals, the national distributor for Netgear, recently publicized the availability of Netgear ProSafe FSM7226RS and FSM726E fully managed 10/100 switches. These switches are said to be best for SMB or branch offices that require trouble free, steadfast, high performance switching.
The Netgear ProSafe FSM7226RS is a fully managed 10/100 24 port switch that comes with two Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps or 1GE SFP) ports. The device also supports 32 static routes. It incorporates two dedicated stacking connectors, and both of them offer 5 Gbps of full duplex switch-to-switch bandwidth. A single stack can provide around 8 units and 384 ports, thus presenting an extremely scalable and comprehensible solution. The FSM7226RS model is equipped with 24 10/100 ports along with two hot-swappable, small form-factor pluggable SFP Gigabit interfaces. However it does not include any stacking ports.

The Netgear ProSafe FSM7226RS is equipped with a built-in thermal sensor that automatically speeds up the fan to boost the air flow in warm conditions. It also slows down the fan to diminish the noise when it is functional in an office environment. Both these latest ProSafe switches offer a non blocking design that sends synchronized, full wire-speed, low-latency throughput to all ports. Furthermore, their 1U rack-mount structure requires less rack space. They come at a lower per-port cost than the similar Fast Ethernet switches.
Netgear offers tough security features like IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication and access control lists which ascertain that only authorized users can access the network. Additional protection is available via Secure Sockets Layer (SSLv3) for the Web GUI and Secure Shell (SSH) for command-line sessions. Multiple switches can also be securely managed by means of a single IP address via SNMPv3 employing NETGEAR’s ProSafe Network Management Software NMS100.
Both these switches are perfect devices for delivering highly reliable, converged voice, video, and data services over a single network infrastructure. Their high-value price point, flexible design, and lower maintenance necessities makes it a suitable alternative for cost-sensitive organizations.
Netgear ProSafe FSM7226RS costs Rs.30680 whereas the FSM726E is priced at Rs.20355. Both these switches can be purchased through Rashi Peripherals and its branches across the country.
