Edimax AC-M1000 and AC-M3000 Network Access Controllers introduced in India
After an array of network products, Edimax now concentrates on managing and controlling the network. With the launch of AC-M1000 and AC-M3000 network access controllers, the company plans to offer a complete control over wired or wireless networks for the Indian consumers.
Specifically designed for SME businesses and public Wi-Fi deployment, the main highlights of both the Network Access Control (NAC) systems include mobility, centralized control and advanced security for wired and wireless networking environments.
While the AC-M1000 boasts its best performance with up to 50 concurrent users, the AC-M3000 claims to provide its best performance with up to 120 concurrent users. The AC-M1000 can allow administrators to configure, monitor and upgrade up to 4 manageable access points from a single centralized AP management interface, whereas the AC-M3000 supports up to 12 access points.
Compliant with up to 2000 guest accounts, the two controllers feature 2 WAN and 8 LAN connections. Users will get to easily combine the two devices with the available network and WLAN infrastructure.
After being deployed as an identity based security gateway, the two control systems carry out features such as authenticate wired and wireless users, implement role-based access control policies and avoid unsafe endpoints from accessing the corporate network. Furthermore, the user management interface enables administrators to efficiently monitor network access and usage, irrespective of the users’ identity. They are also compatible with auditing and accounting management with a billing system by hour or data transmission. These systems also record the history of all guest accounts.
Some of the other features are client-server IPSec VPN authentication, firewall protection, multiple authentication methods and access levels. The AC-M1000 and AC-M3000 support single login account roaming among multiple AP’s and provide centralized AP management in combination with the Edimax EW-7206APg. Users can even avail for an automatic link-Fail-Over support on dual WAN ports, individual bandwidth management and on-demand guest account management.
Although there is no clarity on the pricing, the Edimax AC-M1000 and AC-M3000 network access controllers are available in the Indian market.
