Microsoft Hardware outs a range of peripherals in India
For computing on the go, Microsoft Hardware brings in a new range of products to the Indian market. Designed specially to suit the needs of Indian consumers, the company unwraps its ‘Life In India’ range of products.
This ‘Life in India’ product lineup includes the Wired Keyboard 200, the Optical Mouse 200, and the LifeChat LX 1000. This product range was created after a survey conducted in the various cities of India. According to the survey conducted by Quantum Market Research, Indian consumers require peripherals that are dust and spill resistant alongside work better even in excessive heat. Besides these products, Microsoft will also introduce a range of high-end computer peripherals such as the Wireless Desktop 3000, the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 and the LifeCam Cinema.
Introducing the new range of computer peripherals, Jamieson Yu, Director, Hardware – APAC and GCR, Entertainment and Devices Division, Microsoft Operations said, “Microsoft is committed to healthy computing and therefore our big focus on ergonomics is helping people work safely and avoid injury, but
it’s about a lot more than that. A lot of bad “ergonomic” products have been built because they focus only on reducing injury risk. “Designing for the way that people work” also means making work more fun, more comfortable, and more efficient. Microsoft believes that it’s important to focus on the complete work experience to have a truly successful ergonomic design. And we believe that today’s products are a great testimony to this.”
Redefining the computing experience, these products claim to infuse ‘Digital Therapy’ to enable healthy computing (ergonomics), style and functionality and also technology and innovation advantage.
The Wireless Desktop 3000 and Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 feature Microsoft’s patented Bluetrack technology. BlueTrack is the fusion of the power of optical with the precision of laser that lets users operate the mouse on virtually any surface.

The ‘Life In India’ range for example, incorporates Indian consumer insights for the first time, to offer great value combined with ergonomic design and enhanced comfort and ease of use. At the other end of the spectrum, we have products that are more aspirational and high-end that includes the world’s best webcam. The widescreen capture format in the LifeCam Cinema Webcam is perfect for uploading and sharing videos; now you can be the star on Facebook and YouTube and feel like a movie star in virtually any light!” He further added, “Consumer reactions to these products have been extremely encouraging and we believe we’ve hit the ‘sweet-spot’ in terms of integrating relevant features with style, functionality, design and value. This is what we call Digital Therapy.”
The Wired Keyboard 200 talks about reliability and quality with 6 foot USB cable. It equips a height adjustment feet, quiet responsive keys and Windows start button. It carries a nominal price tag of Rs. 500.
The company elevates the standard for webcams by launching the LifeCam Cinema. This consumer PC webcam offers HD and widescreen video with a native 720p sensor. Its several built-in attributes include auto focus, glass element lens, clear frame technology for clear, smooth video, noise canceling microphone and easy tilt and swivel base, and Digital noise canceling microphone. The price of this device is yet to be announced.
The Optical Mouse 200 offers precise navigation with utmost speed, accuracy and reliability. This plug and play peripheral negates the requirement of any software and can be used comfortably by both hands. It is priced at Rs. 430.
The Wireless Desktop 3000 moulds in style and comfort with a sleek, comfort curve for natural hand and wrist positioning. It is priced at Rs. 3100.
The LifeChat LX 1000 is a basic headset for the various PC audio requirements. Its noise-canceling microphone delivers clear sound while the comfortable headband and inline volume controls further add flexibility. This headset is priced at Rs. 850.
