Epson Artisan 800 and 700 Printers

Epson announced the launch of two new all-in-one printers expanding the Artisan series, namely the Artisan 800 and 700.

Both the Artisan 800 and 700 all-in-one devices sport Epson’s exclusive MicroPiezo print head with DX5 technology and six-color Ultra Hi-Definition Claria ink that delivers vivid, true-to-life photos with an ability to withstand smudge, scratch, water and fade. The inclusion of the company’s intuitive auto photo correction technology enables users to preview corrections on the built-in LCD and remove red eye or discard it if needed.

The other features of the all-in-one printers includes turning plain paper into college-ruled, wide-ruled and graph school paper, and capacity to develop photo layouts with various size photos on a single sheet of paper. All these can be printed or copied on ink jet printable CDs and DVDs. It also packs in OCR software, which allows users can easily covert the document into text for editing.

Epson promises to deliver a printing and copying speed of up to 30 pages per minute for black and color documents, 10 seconds for 4″ x 6″ photos, and 50 seconds for 8″ x 10″ pictures. Both device support memory card and USB drive for printing files without a PC. By using the PictBridge connection, the printers can be connected to a digital camera and mobile phone for direct printing.

Coming to the features of each printer, the Epson Artisan 800 comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, a 30-page Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), 4800 dpi resolution, a 7.8″ smart touch panel and 3.5″ LCD to select, copy, enlarge, rotate, crop, and print photos without the need of a computer. Surprisingly, it boasts to possess an ability to turn photos or drawings into personalized coloring book pages.

The Epson Artisan 700 stands just 5.9-inch tall. This sleek and compact printer sports an easy-to-view tilt 2.5″ LCD, 2400 dpi resolution (48-bit color) and Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking.

The Epson Artisan 800 is priced at $299.99 (approx. Rs. 13,963) and Artisan 700 costs $199.99 (approx. Rs. 9,309).
